Nutrition & Tradeshows: Restaurants Encouraged to Participate During “National Food Safety Education Monthsm”

The National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation's (NRAEF) International Food Safety Council (IFSC) urges restaurant and foodservice professionals to plan now to participate in the tenth annual National Food Safety Education Monthsm this September. This year's theme is "Keep Hands Clean with Good Hygiene." The NRAEF's International Food Safety Council (IFSC) created this annual campaign in 1994 to heighten the awareness about the importance of food safety education. Each year a new theme and training activities are created for the industry to reinforce proper food safety practices and procedures. In addition, promotional materials are created to let others know what each establishment does on a daily basis to ensure safe food handling. The NRAEF is reminding the industry to devote September as a restaurant’s opportunity to reinforce proper food safety training; and, to let customers know food safety is more than an option – it is an obligation of each establishment.
