The Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, launched a first-of-its-kind course to ameliorate food served at hospitals and other health-care facilities nationwide.
Foodservice Management in Health Care is an elective offered to second-semester seniors that introduces students to the challenges they may face running a health-care food-service operation and prepares them for management positions in that field.
“Managing a department of nutrition and food service is complex, and this unique course teaches students about these challenges,” college instructor Lynne Eddy, a registered dietitian and previous hospital food-service director, said in a news release.
